LinuxCNC installed - Next step? was created by txtrone
I have LinuxCNC installed. I am moving down the 'hardware' section on this forum to driver boards, this seems like the logical next step. For those of you who have done this many times over, what should my next step be? I have a Mesa 7i76e card and power supply for it. Should I start by connecting and verifying communication between the PC and the 7i76e?
The board I am using has two ether ports built in. Do either of these jump out as being 'better' for connecting to the 7i76e?
1 - IntelĀ® Ethernet Controller I210-AT
2 - IntelĀ® PHY I219LM LAN controller
The board is a SuperMicro X11SCV-Q

thx

After you connect and power the 7i76E, do a simple ping test on both cards and use the one with the lower reply time.
