Hi,
I started retrofitting an HBM 45 profi manual desktop mill with step/dir servo drivers and TTL linear scales. I already have a 7i76+5i25 combo so I wonder if just adding a 7i85 board is enough to handle the system in closed loop. If that's fine, How should I wire them?, 7i76-5i25 via DB25 cable and 7i85-7i76 through TB1(7i85) Serial connector?. Could I also add a 7i73 also wired to another Serial port of 7i85?.
Thanks, José

Hello Jose,
The 7i85 is connected to the extension connector P2 of the 5i25. You can find the correct firmware here
store.mesanet.com/index.php?route=produc...ct_id=55&search=5i25
Flashing the 5i25_7i76_7i85.bit file.
And it doesn't matter where you connect your 7i73. Try out where your first serial port is after flashing. The 7i76 has also one

Ok, understood. Thanks for such an early replies. I will purchase a 7i85 board with an expansion cable for 5i25.
I have other question about 3D CAD models of these boards. Could I get some .STEP file of them in order to design my own CNC panel?.
Thanks
