I think I have just fried my 7i76ED.
I am still in the wiring / setup stage, and was just wiring up the Z limit switches.
I powered the board up, and it started smoking. I powered down ASAP, but looks like I have done some permanent damage.
Looks like a couple of ICs have burn marks, but I'm not sure what they are. They apear to be labelled U24 and U19.
I am still not 100% sure where the short was. The only difference from last working was I had wired Z limit switches - 1 wire to input and the other to field power.
The only other possibility is that the shielding on 1 of my cables accidentally touched the board and shorted everything out.
Does anyone in AUSTRALIA have a 7i76ED or 7i76ED board I could buy off them ASAP?
Thanks

Yeah it looks like a high voltage (well 12V or more) got connected to the
7I76Es 5V rail
Looks like some high voltage wire or something touched and shorted to the screw for TB2-pin6
I hadn't noticed the mark on TB2-6. I just had a look at it, and it is only the top of the screw that is discoloured. Underneath looks brand new.
The only wiring change I had made was wiring in Z limit switches. These are an NC microswitch. I had them wired from 24V to TB6-14 and TB6-15. Should I have had them wired to 5V instead of 24V?
The other possibility is that the shield cable from one of my cables shorted out some pins on an IC - I will be insulating the ends of all cables before plugging the new board back in.
Thanks

No distributor. I found a lcnc user on facebook that had a spare board that I can have until I get a new one.
I was going to order a couple more off Mesa US, but he only had one in stock, so have ordered one for now.
I'm in Rural NSW, so overnight normally means sometime in the next 2-3 days

I know the feeling. I grew up in Western Queensland where we had one mail a week!
