What 6i24 firmware to use for single 7i37?

I am converting a CNC mill to LinuxCNC. I had originally ordered a 6i25 with a 7i37 and 7i77, but hadn't noticed the 6i25 had a 25 pin IDC connector instead of the 50 pin one thats on the 7i37.

Now I have already connected the 6i25 with the 7i77 and got all the machine movement working, I only still need the extra IO from the 7i37 to get the ATC to work. I have wired up the 6i24 and 7i37 but I don't know what firmware I should flash onto the 6i24 to connect to only a single 7i37, as quite a bit of the available bitfiles are not explained in the manual, and all the firmware that is explained in the manual is targeted at controlling motor drives which is already handled by the 7i77.

Currently the 7i37 is plugged into P1, but I can plug it into any of the 3 connectors if that turns out to work better with one of the bitfiles.

Any firmware will work, so you dont need to change the existing firmware
You do need to disable any PWMgens or encoders or stepgens in the hal file
so the pins 'they use revert to straight GPIO

Okay, so it's simply setting config="num_encoders=0 num_pwmgens=0 num_stepgens=0" or is there something else that needs to be done to re-allocate the pins to GPIO?
