Xylotex 3 axis board set up was created by sadproducts
I have recently made the switch from Mach to EMC. I have a MiniMill X2 using a Xylotex 3 axis board. I have 425 oz steppers on the X and Y, and the 269 oz on the Z.
After much time spent in the Axis configuration I have set the values to the following:
Both X and Y
Steps per rev: 200
Microstepping: 8
Ratio: 1:1
Pitch: 16
Vmax: .5
Amax: 30
Z Axis
Steps per rev: 200
Microstepping: 8
Ratio: 1:1
Pitch: 5 (ballscrew)
Vmax: .3
Amax: 10
This seems to run just fine during the testing/configuring but when it comes to actual jogging around I am getting a bit of motor stuttering unless I am using the rapid jog. Furthermore, if I jog a few times in one direction, it occasionally jogs in the wrong direction - this really worries me!
I am really new at this and don't know were to begin troubleshooting this behavior. Thanks.

Hello,
You might try longer direction setup time and direction hold times in your hal file.
