Max cable length between Mesa 5i25 and &7i77

Hello,

I am trying to decide if I will keep the pc in the machine cabinet and buy 5 meters long vga and usb cables to the monitor, or buy a longer db 25 cable. Is there a max length for the db 25 cable? Can I bump into delay and noise issues with a 5 or 6 meters long paralel port cable?

Definitely extend your usb and monitor cables or you will most likely have issues with the mesa cable. I think I remember pcw saying max 10 foot cable.

I recall 10 to 15 feet max. If you want to keep the computer outside the cabinet at the control you can run a 7i92 inside the cabinet instead of a 5i25 and get away with running a significantly smaller and longer ethernet cable from the computer to the cabinet. The ethernet delays are not as significant of an issue.

This also allows a smaller form factor computer case. Access to USB ports at the control. Alot less long wire runs.
