I'm trying to understand the wiring in my system. I think:
- Field Power sets the voltage of the outputs and this is where the current drawn through the outputs will be sourced
- Vin provides power to local circuitry and must be >=8v. It can be joined to field power with a jumper if field power v is >8v.
Is that right? Why are there four terminals for field power?

That's correct. In addition field power sets the input thresholds.
Four terminals because its possible to have about 3-4 amps of continuous
output current (not good for one terminal) and in addition the pinout is
compatible with other devices (like the 7I84) that have field power divided
into two banks.

Great, thank you. I will monitor my output current and use those extra terminals if I get close to an amp, which will happen approximately never.
