Hello again
As Im looking thru my old doc from FC, I found these things:
Step pulse polarity
High
Step pulse active edge
Trailing
Step pulse width
15
Enable signal polarity
low
what concerns me on this page is the polarity of the enable
on the side of the FC box there is a button to push after you release the E-stop
that is what turned on the power to the drives-motors were stiff after i pushed this button
My plan is to still use that button and not use an enable signal from LCNC
these are the pins FC used on these drives
step input
direction input
comm
according to the schematic this is connected to +5v
fault collector
fault emitter--- connected to ground
servo enable---all three connected to a common pin on the 25 pin cable coming into the box
here is the link to the drives again if you need it:

thanks for the help/advice

The only reason im trying to reuse the drives is that the encoders
and motors are all wired up and working
Its not a big deal to trash it all and start over
it will irratate me though cause ive already done this once(a long time ago)
the fun of this project was supposed to be up by the 7i73 and the
individual handwheels this part down by the motors is old news

To use the fault signal with the 7I76E you would need to reverse its polarity:
fault collector to +24V fault emitter to 7I76E input
You could use a spare step/dir output for the drive /ENABLE signal

Thanks again!
On a side note I have maybe one of the oldest 5i20 set ups running
I bought it from a guy(Stuart) at one of the first EMC fests
You donated it for a raffle He won it and I bought it from him
Its been running every day for maybe 15yrs
thanks again
