errors when building bitfiles was created by bigblue
Hi all
I'm not new to LinuxCNC but, just now started looking into playing around with custom bitfiles for my 7i80HD-16.
I do have a 7i47S, which works great. I'd like to add some SSI-encoders in the future and like to use a 7i44 for that.
All I could find was a pretty ancient tutorial from 2014 that explains how to build bitfiles in ISE (14.7).
I run into sequence of errors.
thanks
Niko

- sserialwab isn't found, fixed that by adding it to the database
- dumbass8sqwsb isn't found. It's also not in the 7i80.zip or hotstmot2.zip from on mesanet.com
thanks

Note that with VHDL, package names are not necessarily the same as file names.
The dumb8 package is in d8o8sqwsb.vhd. I'll try and update the 7i80 project file
when I get a chance

Thanks for the hint.
I'm more a c++ and python guy, this VHDL stuff is like magic to me

I played around a bit and noticed that I can build for 7i92, 7i93 or 5i25 just fine after figuring which files are needed in the library.
However, 7i80hd still fails. The 7i76 fails as well. Could it be that I'm missing something for the 256-pin FPGAs?

I don't think so, (that is, the project files work for me) What error do you get?

SOLVED
99 of those, or similar.
I completely removed ISE and the sources and started from scratch. It builds now!

That error indicates that the selected chip available pins and ucf file pins do not match
