So today I did a dumb on my 7i76e and accidentally shorted the 24V and 5V together via an Estop.... that acrid smell of stupidity lingers....
So far all that looks failed is PTC3 - does anyone know what component it is?
Hopefully I haven't made an expensive ornament....

Presumably a PTC resistor that protects the circuit from overcurrent. But maybe wait for PCW to confirm.

I would not worry to much, yet, Mesa has the best support on Earth.

Yes. that part is a 2A 1206 size PTC to protect the external 5V wiring of
TB2 from shorts.
If the logic side or the 7I76E still powers up (red LED flashes briefly and then
extinguishes on power-on ) It may be OK to just replace the PTC

Thanks - unfortunately the only light I get at any time is the orange field power led
Seems I may have done more damage than I can see.
Assume the PTC is 6V? Might order anyway - can't break it more
No 7i76e in stock at the moment - seems the closest replacement would be 7i96 + 7i84 (need 4x stepper, 1 encoder, ~20 inputs)
[ed - found 7i76ed to substitute in whilst attempt to rectify this one.... not using any outputs atm so should be direct plug in]
