For future reference, the first line did not work, but the second line did work, so just replacing "readhmid" with "write" plus filename should also work.-sudo mesaflash --device 7C80 –spi --addr /dev/spidev0.0 --write 7c80_7i89d.bit
-mesaflash --device 7c80 --addr /dev/spidev0.0 --spi --readhmid

I think I see where the issue with "-spi" is coming from. Spotted this in an old version of the 7C80 manual floating around the 'net. Just checked the current manual, and it's still there. Oops.
