Hi Peter,
I have the 7i85sx2d bitfile loaded in my 7i92, and the 7i85 connected. When I connect a 7i73 to SSerial 0, and start the system with ...
loadrt hostmot2
loadrt hm2_eth board_ip="10.10.10.10" config=" num_encoders=5 num_pwmgens=1 num_stepgens=2 sserial_port_0=0000xx"
setp hm2_7i92.0.watchdog.timeout_ns 5000000
addf hm2_7i92.0.read servo-thread
addf motion-command-handler servo-thread
addf motion-controller servo-thread
addf hm2_7i92.0.write servo-thread
setp hm2_7i92.0.dpll.01.timer-us -50
...LinuxCNC starts up fine, without errors, or messages.
Halshow does not return any 7i73 pins, and and the red watchdog LED of the 7i73 just glares at me. I suspect that the syntax of sserial_port_0=0000xx is wrong, and also tried 0=000000 and 0=xxxxxx
Here is what the HALshow within linuxCNC returns for the 7i92:
I would appreciate any inputs you have into trouble shooting my error here.
Regards,
Mark

W3-W4 is up? That's is what you need to provide 5v power ti 7i85 which is selected to get 5v from the cable. Looks to me like W3 ,W4 is down on 7i92.

7i92_7i85sx2D.bit is firmware for a 7I85S, not a 7I85,
you would need 7i92_7i85x2D.bit firmware for a 7I85.

Thanks guys. W3 and 4 are both up. You are right that I got the 7i85S bitfile instead of the 7i85 Peter. Thanks for picking that up.

I have now flashed it with 7i92_7i85x2d.bit, and attached is the readhmid.
Running linuxcnc CNC, with the attached HAL, the connected 7i73 still just gives a steady watchdog LED , and the HALshow still shows no further pins.

Changed the HAL to sserial_ports= 0x0000000 and now the 7i73 is showing green. Yaahhhh!
Thanks for the support guys. You are the best!
