Mesa 7i97 on Simodrive 611 + glass scales was created by einarak
I´m retrofitting an old DMU50 to Mesa 7i97, it has Simodrive 611 servo drivers which are I guess closed loop since the AC motors have encoders connected to the drivers. It also has LS486 Glass scales on all axis, which are/were connected to the TNC124 that is being replaced with Mesa and LinuxCNC.
As said before, the encoder on each motor is connected to the servo driver and I assume it has to be that way for the drivers to work.
So should I wire the glass scales to the 7i97 board? Doesn´t it create a conflict if both the Simo driver and 7i97 are trying to control the motor closed loop?

If the Simodrive 611s are running in analog velocity mode,
you must connect the glass scales to the 7I97/LinuxCNC
for position feedback.
