MESA 7i97 Encoder Trouble Shooting was created by anfänger
Hi I have some trouble getting my encoders to work with my latest retrofit.
The last ones were all running first try, so I am a bit confused.
I didn't try to measure the encoders or drag my oscilloscope to the workshop yet, I have to ask a question first. (Setting this up by the machine is no fun)
When I check the Encoder Inputs (Without the encoder attached) with a multimeter they all show 5V, wich is kind of odd.
I would expect 0V. So do I miss a jumper setting? Did I fry my encoder inputs somehow? Or is this normal?
Thanks Patrick

The 7I97 encoder inputs will be at +5V if not driven by an encoder
(they have 2K pullup resistors to 5V)

Thanks,
So my inputs are fine, that's good news.
leaves me to figure out why the encoders don't work
Cause when I connect the Encoders then all stay at 5V
time to meet them with a multimeter and power supply. To see what they say without the Mesa board.
Then I'll be back
