Hello,
I'm afraid I blew my 7c80.
Stepgens 2 and 3 don't work anymore,
step motors don't move connected to channels 2 and 3, redirection to 4 and 5 or 0 and 1 work.
@PCW: do you know what chips are (or probably are) affected and have to be changed?

Thanks in advance

Replied by PCW on topic 7c80 stepgens 2 and 3 defect
The part likely damaged is the driver chip.

Not sure of the U number but the SO16 chip near the stepgen 2,3 connectors.

Chips may be hard to find do to the chip shortage,
but these are all suitable parts:

ISL32174EIBZ
ISL32172EIBZ
MAX3042BESE
MAX3042BCSE
MAX3045BESE
MAX3045BCSE

@PCW:
Hello again,
I finally found some time got the ISL32174EIBZ and replaced it. Unfortunately stepgens 2 and 3 are still dead. Do you have any more suggestions, what could have lost life?

I'd check continuity from the outpins on the chip to the connector.

Thanks for replying, I just checked and compared to the stepgen chip for 0 and 1 and the chip for 2 and 3.
I have a different behavior on pin 4 and 8.
They are not connected to the third pin labelled S- on the output of stepgen 3, whereas
on the chip for stepgen 0 and 1 I measure a small resitance.
But I cant examine the paths on the board...
Any ideas?

Just to close this thread,
after reworking I discovered a lose solder pin.
So it was the driver chip,
thanks to PCW everything is
working fine.
