Mesa 7i95 Output wiring was created by M_tz3
Hello Guys
I have bought a 7i95 Mesa Card for retrofitting my CNC-Mill.
I had to buy this card, because all other cards are not in stock.
I read the manual and wired the inputs for some tests in LinuxCNC. This worked great.
Now I want to wire the Outputs, but I am not sure how to do this. In manual they were described as Out0- and Out0+.
Could you please explain me, how to connect this outputs? I don't want to damage the card, because it was the last one in the shop .
Thank You
Kind Regards
Matthias

they are isolated outputs.
basically, think of them like a switch... you wire either the + or - to the load and depending if the + is wired to the load the - would go to zero V
or in the - is wired to the load, the + would be wired to the positive voltage (uo to 36v)
each output is independent so they can each be wired differently.

Thank you for your fast answer
Can they switch up to 36V or they can only switch 5V?
Thank you

www.mesanet.com/pdf/parallel/7i95man.pdf
PDF page 6 of the discription:
Six 36V 2A isolated outputs allow sinking, sourcing
combinations of both
PDF Page 42:
ISOLATED OUTPUTS
OUTPUT SWITCHED VOLTAGE 0V +36V
OUTPUT SWITCHED CURRENT ---- 2A
OUTPUT RESISTANCE ---- 75 mOhm
OUTPUT ISOLATION VOLTAGE ---- 100 VDC
MAXIMUM OUTPUT FREQUENCY ---- 5 KHz
mesa manuals are very comprehensive (sometimes it takes a while to digest + understand how much info is provided).
