7i97 + 7i76D with Mesa Configuration Tool was created by smc.collins
I am going to be using a 7i97 with a 7i76D : for the additional IO" with the 25pin db connector from the 7i97 "flat ribon cable breakout" . I have the sample firmware for this as well as the base hal and ini files but the tool refuses both.

You can only open an ini file created with the Mesa Configuration Tool.
I'll have to add that firmware in the morning. Last time I checked there was no firmware for the 7i97...
It will take some time to add a daughter card to an all in one card...

ok, I have my hands busy for at least a week. I decided to just gut the entire machine, the wiring was, engineered like the finest Mercedes electrical system

And yes, their cars use hydraulics for roof folding and pneumatic for air suspension. Old/older ones used air to shut the engine down, VW used air pumps for central locking, etc etc.

Having worked a lot on those Mercedes electrical/electronics/hydraulics/pneumatic systems, i would not entirely agree!.... the wiring was, engineered like the finest Mercedes electrical system

You should be able to flash the 7i97, create a configuration for a 7i76 or 7i78 but I didn't have time to test it this morning.

there's a bug with the 7i97 for configuring the Axes's on the 7i97, you can configure the daughter card, but not the 7i97, which, is weird.
