it shows card 1 as greyed out, as well as the axis tabs, even when not selecting 7i97, but you can select the 7i76 and configure with no problem.

I didn't get that far, because I wasn't able to create the axese's in question, I read through the supplied read me and help and I think I am using the software properly.

I took a quick look at all in one boards with a daughter card and I have work to do on that. For now you can create a configuration for a 7i97 but not with a daughter card.
Edit: So that looks like the next thing I need to work on an all in one board with a daughter card.

Ok, I am going to go ahead with just starting my build with the 7i97 and Hopefully when I get to needing the IO of the 7i76 you've got it all worked out. I appreciate the fast response !, where do I send the beer ?
A quick note on spindle, I don't know if you considered the 7i97 only has analog servo outputs, and the spindle needs to be configured as a analog output for outputs 0-5 there is no way to set the spindle for a analog output that I can see. Also I need to be able to use it as a Axis for synchronised motion turning thread features etc, I am still fuzzy on how that is handled.
I see no way to assign the encoder inputs to the various axes
I did peruse the PDF, and I am a bit confused on how to calculate the encoder scales, Is it encoder scale x 4 = base unit, and base unit is inch or millimeter ? or is it the encoder count per/rev x screw pitch
IE
(4096 ppr x 4) X 5tpi = 81,960 etc + pnconf style ?
I wasn't sure on what the base unit was for the math.

Send beer to Swamp East Missouri
Opening the 7i97 manual from the tool
I see that Six uncommitted OPTO coupler outputs are available for drive enable. Four of these outputs (ENA0 through ENA3) are switched in common while ENA4 and ENA5 can be independently switched for spindle applications.
So that means either AOUT4 or AOUT5 can be used for a spindle. Looks like I have a bit of work to do for a 7i97 spindle. I'll start on that in the morning with my coffee.
The encoder scale is how many pulses it takes to move one user unit. A user unit is either a millimetre or an inch.

Currently the encoder on Joint 0 will be encoder 0 and joint 1 will be encoder 1 etc.How do you assign the encode inputs ?
