7i92 + 7i76 + 7i84 was created by rajsekhar
I am trying to configure a system with 7i92+7i76+7i84.
This is the first time I am using Mesa.
I have connected the ethernet cable
For 7i92:
As I will use separate power to 7i76, do I need to connect 5V power to 7i92??
I am using parallel port cable having 1:1 connection between DB25 ports (basically home soldered) and not shieled.
For 7i76 & 7i84:
I understand I need to connect 24VDC positive power to TB1 connector (pin 1,2,3,4 daisy chain) and GND to pin 8. Am I right??
should I daisy chain 6,7,8??

If you are using separate 5V power for the 7I76 you need to supply 5V power to the 7I92 also
(make sure the 7I76 is jumpered to use 5V external power and the 7I92 is jumpered
to NOT supply 5V to the 7I76)
Yes 1,2,3,4 are 24V on the orange field power connector on both the 7I76 and 7I84
(only pin 8 or the orange connector need be connected)

in 7i84, there is screw terminals on P5 and no terminals connected to P3.
Should I connect +5VDC to P5 top and GND to P5 bottom??

Do you mean 7I92?
Yes +5 on the top (this is shown in the 7I92 manual)

I completed power connections.
But stuck in Network..I followed this thread
forum.linuxcnc.org/27-driver-boards/3559...ethernet-mesa-boards
but on ping, its a failure. "From 10.10.10.11 icmp_seq=1 Destination Host Unreachable" Refer attached file.
upon terminal command "mesaflash --device 7i92 --addr 10.10.10.10 -readhmid", resulted " No 7i92 board found". Refer attached file.
7i92 connected with 5VDC (4.99 VDC on measurement) power, LED status are as per attached photo and video.
All 7i92 jumpers are in default position.
What to do??

I think the default I.P. is in the 192.168.1.121 ish
So you have to set the jumper to the 10.10.10.10 range (its is shown in the manual)
W6 should be up

Thank you. W6 made Up and problem solved. Its pinging, attached photo. Hope it is ok.
Another query:
7i92 is connected by DB25 cable to 7i76 and 7i76RS422 connected to 7i84.
What else networking to be setup for 7i76 & 7i84??

No more networking, it is all good.
Use mesaflash to check what firmware is on the 7i92, you might need to flash the firmware for 7i92/7i76.
7i84 does not need any flashing or setup except maybe activating the SSerial port in the hal file.

Moved to "driver boards".
-
Not sure but to me it looks like the firmware is OK for 7i76.
Use PncConf or JT's MesaCT tool to create a simple config so you can start LinuxCNC and check if everything is working.
