hello everyone.
I'm new to Linuxcnc. I have a 7i95 and a 7i76ed card. it is connected by a db25 cable.
how can i obtain at least 7 stepgen and 7 encoder feedback? or what kind of daughtercard should i use with 7i95 to gain 7 stepgen as well as 7 encoder feedback?
sorry for my english.

It should work, it will probably need firmware flashing.
Can you do a "readhmid" and post back the report, i never checked what firmware is already installed, maybe in a week or two i will have more time to play with it.

Here is a bit file for a 7I95 and 7I76:
This is close to the limit of what will fit in a 7I95
so there is only 1 serial expansion port available
It does include 7 encoders and 7 stepgens

Thanks for relay!
i made two firmware based on PIN_7i95_7i76D_58.vhd and didn’t change the serial expansion port that’s the reason why i couldn’t drive the servo
I’ll try the new firmware
Thanks very much!

Hello, unfortunately this firmware still doesn't work, the servo is connected to pins 2, 4, 6 on the TB2 port of the 7i76d, the 7i76D is powered by the 7i95, the attachment is the hal, pinout files, I tried 3 firmwares, so there are 3 pinout files

What exactly does not work?I tried stepgen6 with the firmware I supplied and it works (on 7I76 TB2 pins 1..6)
Also you should probably update your copy of mesaflash, the firmware pinout should be:

Sorry, I uploaded the wrong pinout file, now it is correct, after flashing the firmware you gave, the TB2 interface (stepgen06) on the 7i76D still cannot drive the servo, the 0-5 on the 7i95 works normally, the mesaflash version is: 3.4.6

There certainly may be other issues, but with the firmware I provided,
stepgen 6 works and is connected to 7I76 TB2 pins 1..6
(verified with 7I95+ 7I76D on P1 running LinuxCNC)

When I tested, I just ran a generic LinuxCNC 3 axis configuration,
then used halshow to set::
stepgen06 enable true
stepgen06 velocity mode
stepgen06 output mode (to 2= quadrature)
stepgen06 velocity to 1 (1 Hz at the default scale of 1)
This gives 1 Hz square waves on the STEP and DIR pins
(on the 7I76D)
