Does the world need another parallel port adapter board? was created by OliverLSedlacek
I've got my converted mill running with a parallel port interface board and a 'logic to voltage' converter board fitted by a previous owner. I may be a linuxCNC newbie, but as a professional electronics engineer I'm really tempted to roll my own combined interface adapter. Apart from merging those two functions I would add an EStop relay and some medium power (0.1A to 1A territory) 24V high side drivers for relays or solenoids.

Yes they are.
But since PCW (the owner of Mesa) is a magnificent human being and engineer, he kept steadily providing us with cards, despite having to redesign some and keep the compatibility (not an easy task by any stretch of imagination), with all the troubles that implies for the manufacturing.
And he consistently helps us here.
