i have a 7i80HD-16 and a 7i80HD-25 (bought as a backup), and having just bought a 7i44 (with a 7i70, and 7i73), i need firmware that provides stepgens (x3+) and of course sserial (x8), with the rest configurable as GPIO. i have not found a ready-made firmware, that i am aware of. i tried 7i80hd_25_sssvst8_8_8.bit on my 25 board, but when running
./mesaflash.exe --ip 10.10.10.10 --device 7i80 --hm2
, i get pinouts as attached. it lists no stepgens, so clearly my method of deciphering the firmware names has failed.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Is it possible that the firmware didn't "take"? Did you power cycle the board after flashing?

i tried it a few times, with power cycles in between. i even tried swapping to a different firmware, power cycled, and checking the pinout to confirm that it changed, then flashed back to 7i80hd_25_sssvst8_8_8.bit, power cycled, and checked pinout, and it went back to the pinout in the attachment. tomorrow, i will try re-downloading the supporting software for the 7i80HD, and see if maybe i just had a dud (if there were updates to firmware)

i think PCW was working on making a firmware, but i got called into work, so i don't know the status of that.

Similar to SVST4_8 but with 7I44 sserial and more sane stepgen pinout (12 channels) +DPLL

I finally had the time today to put the firmware into use, and it works perfectly. i had to shuffle some wires around to match the firmware pinouts, but once i got it all figured out, the machine acts and responds as it should, and the sserial hardware is picked up and mapped out in HAL just as it should. very pleased, thank you VERY MUCH, Peter!
