Hi everyone

I recently started retrofitting a Mazak QT20 lathe .
I am completely new to this and this is my first atempt to retrofit a machine.

So far I have bought the Mesa 7i92 and 7i77D cards and have installed them in the machine.  I connected everything up and linked it to a pc and did the initial setup.
Everything seems to work fine .

I am now busy connecting the spindle drive and trying to get the spindle to work .It uses a Fanuc model 15 :A06B-6044-H011 drive .I have the manuals for both the Machine and the drive .

From what I can make out ,I should connect the following :

1.The Mesa 7I77 AOUT5 connected to the Drive CH13 terminal which controls VCMD (Velocity command)

2.The Mesa 7I77 GND connected to the Drive 0V.

3.The Mesa 7i77 power Gnd connected to the Drive 0V .

I am not sure where to connect the ENA5+ and ENA5- .(Maybe on 'Machine ready' ? )

Please can someone assist.

Are these connections correct ?
Do I need to connect the drive enables ?

That spindle drive has a pretty complex interface
Have you verified that it can be run with only an analog speed command?
