Mesa Configuration Tool 2.0.0 was created by JT
If anyone wants to take a preview of the Mesa Configuration Tool 2.0.0 it's at:
github.com/jethornton/mesact2
The reasons for the complete redesign are many but to highlight a few:
A smaller size to fit any screen.
A more friendly interface.
Support for more daughter cards.
Better update code for the INI file. <<< TEST ME
The tool is currently in testing and will create and update the INI file only. The current items in testing are shown when you start the tool.
Comments and Suggestions should be placed as an issue here:

The big breakthrough this morning is to be able to tell what tab each joint comes from so I can get stuff like invert for that joint and know if it's a stepper or analog joint. This makes it possible to have multiple daughter cards for main boards and daughter cards for boards like the 7i96S. It's not complete yet but I have the code base I need.

Thank you for your new tool! I just played around and found an error while generating a new config.
In the ini file there is saved hal=machine_name.hal instead of main.hal in the [HAL] section.
So the config will not load, because machine_name.hal does not exist.

Download a fresh copy and try again, I don't get that with the current version.
Note: as I work my way through the code things will be broken and it's best to report them on the issue tracker if you have a github account. If not then this is the place. The version will be 2.0.0 until the tool is functioning properly but the build date will change as I build new debs.

Well, I should point out that machine_name is the name of the configuration...

I just checked and it correctly puts main.hal in the ini file.

I've made quite a bit of progress on the new Mesa Configuration Tool if anyone wants to check it out. Been working on multiple daughter cards and daughter cards for combo boards like the 7i96S.

Try here
github.com/jethornton/mesact/releases
download the deb for what you are running (usually amd64) and double click on it after the download finished, install, run, enjoy.

I thought I fixed those... and it was a typo on my part for the link.
