I'm having trouble with my 7i92 board finding the 7i77. I can get linuxcnc to run and open the HAL config. It shows the watchdog has not bit however the i/o fault light on the 7i77 stays on. I have 5 volts going to TB1 and 24 volts going to Vin. The encoder does not read.

"mesaflash --device 7i92t --addr 10.10.10.10 --readhmid" shows the 7i92 board only.

I tried,"mesaflash --device 7i92t --addr 10.10.10.10 --dbname1 7i77" can't find the board.

I've tried pncconf many different ways and I still get the same result. Is there a known problem with these cards working together?

What does this return
"mesaflash --device 7i92t --addr 10.10.10.10 --readhmid"
?

It seems to be Mesa 7i76 firmware, so go to mesa website there should be a manual and a zip file for download, so download both for the 7i92t and the manual for 7i77.
See the 7i92t manual on how to flash, it is easy, similar to reading the config, use a file that has 7i92t and 7i77 in the name, bot sure but should be .bit extension.
Do a --reload or power off and on the cards after flashing.

I tried this earlier.

mesaflash --device 7i92t --addr 10.10.10.10 --write 7i92_7i77x2.bit

r@r-DX4870:~/Downloads$ mesaflash --device 7i92t --addr 10.10.10.10 --write 7i92_7i77x2.bit
Can't find bitfile 7i92_7i77x2.bit
r@r-DX4870:~/Downloads$

I'm not sure how it would have 7i76 firmware.
Could it have been caused by pncconf?

I down loaded the file from mesa and i tried this. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong.

r@r-DX4870:~/Downloads/7i92/configs/hostmot2$ mesaflash --device 7i92t --addr 10.10.10.10 --write 7i92_7i77x2.bit
Checking file... OK
File type: Xilinx bit file
Error: wrong bitfile destination device: 6slx9tqg144, should be T20F256
