7I84 Max Input Frequency was created by nwallace
I have a situation where I need to be able to read a 24v sensor up to about 1000hz. Does anyone know if the inputs on a 7I84 are capable of reading that?

10KHz would require a 100000ns servo period, i have gone to 250000 and that worked perfectly through Ethernet and PCI-E.

I nearly said earlier that you might be better off using an encoder input which is what is done when using a THCAD.
You can scale the resulting velocity in hal
That way its not dependent on the servo thread.

I thing PCW mentioned that can do 10MHz, i have tested a bit over 1MHz, did not have anything faster.I nearly said earlier that you might be better off using an encoder input which is what is done when using a THCAD.

7i84 will easily read 4kHz input with 5i25
