Breakout board pinout low/high state problem

Hi everyone. I'm facing a strange problem with my Chinese bob (the one with a blue relay). I wired pin 16 as the signal to a relay module that controls spindle CCW movement through VCD. The CW movement is controled by the onboard relay. Strangely, when I turn on the PC, both relays are trigged. Before the end of the startup messages, the built-in relay turns off but the relay connected to pin 16 remains on. Only when I launch linuxcnc the relay module is turned off and both relays start working as expected (M3/M4/M5) . I assumed that all pinouts should maintain the low state until trigged, right? Any suggestions to resolve this issue? Thank you.

Short of using a charge pump, there is no solution.
Parallel port changes states of pins during boot, it was used for diagnosing stuff on PC's.
You can however use another pin that might not change states, but you have to test other output pins to be sure.

Charge pump is easy, some capacitors, a resistor and a transistor.
The problem is, if you search for charge pump on the internet you get bombarded with "voltage multipliers" named as charge pump, so not easy to find at all.
