If that LDO is not shorted (vin to gnd) the rest should be fine.

Thanks. I didn't plug it in hot so that's good.
I ordered the part and changed it out. Had to get creative with the 4 vias around the cathode pad because the pad came off the frp. It's not pretty but it's back up and running.

You're not kidding. My wife got it shortly thereafter so we haven't seen the kids yet. The good news is I replaced the TVS diode and all is well again.

I happened to be working on a new revision of the 7I96S ATM
so have added more copper around CR43s pads to make
losing pads less likely in the event of an overvoltage...

Kinda hijacking my own thread here but I'm really pleased with the 7i96s and linuxcnc in general. So now I want to upgrade my larger MPCNC machine and am torn between getting another 7i96s (which by the time I do the conversion to CAD and pay for shipping, is in eyebrow raising territory with the Minister of Financial and Social Affairs. So I'm thinking a 7I92TH? My MPCNC has 2 steppers for X, 2 for Y, and one for Z. 4 homing switches.
It's currently running Klipper against an ATMega2560 3D printer board with triamic drivers on small NEMA 17's. I'm thinking I'll ditch the 3D printer board and buy one of these instead ttps://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07TT3C3HB and drive that with the 7I92TH.
I feel like a 7I92TH would be plenty sufficient? Thoughts?
I appreciate all the help in getting my little machine running with the 7i96s.
