7i96s inputs - pull up / pull down / nothing? was created by Mud
Hopefully easily answered, but the manual only details pull-ups on the expansion port, not TB3 - do the 7i96s inputs have resistors between the single-ended inputs and the input common? If yes, what resistance?
What I would like to do is parallel up my tool length sensor (simple NC switch currently attached to 24V) and my probe (image below). My input common is attached to ground as my other sensors are PNP.

If the 7I96 input common is grounded, the inputs are pulled down
If the black wire is physically grounded, you should wire as the drawing suggests:
24V to Red
Yellow to 7I96 input
Black to ground
This will give about a 8V input signal into the ~4.7K 7I96 input resistance
which is plenty (min is 4V)
