RS485 module was created by vre
This rs485 module will work with linuxcnc in real time?
If for example drive it from mesa card rs485 port?
www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003367175020.html
This ali store www.aliexpress.com/store/2348129
has a lot of rs485 modules with many functions general i/o relays sensors etc
that if can work with linuxcnc in real time it will be perfect.

Possibly...
The experimental mesa-modbus interface works
with similar relay modules. (I've had one clicking away on my desk
for a couple of months now) There _is_ still
work that needs to be done to improve mesa-modbus

Really real-time? Via Modbus 485?

Except from mesa cards also there are some industrial mobos that have rs485 onboard ports or rs232 to rs485 adapter with these can work in real time?

Real time is probably possible. But how do you define real time? I can't imagine that Modbus can work with a cycle time of 1 ms (Servo-Thread)

Real time has predefined latency bounds -> stable jitter.
These modules are not for motion but for general i/o so more than 1ms is no problem
