How can I use a Mesa 5I25 was created by Holzwurm56
Hello, I have 2 Mesa 5I25, they have 2 DB25 output sockets, similar to Lpt. Can I use these as 2 Lpt ports? Ev. with 2 breakout boards? Or do I definitely need an additional one Mesa card?

The 5I25 (and any 25 pin Mesa FPGA card) can be used with
normal parallel port breakout boards, with the correct firmware.
The following are all parallel port compatible configurations for the 5I25:
5i25_5ABOBx2.bit
5i25_benezanx2D.bit
5i25_bstechx2.bit
5i25_c11gx2.bit
5i25_c11x2.bit
5i25_dmmbob1x2.bit
5i25_g540x2.bit
5i25_hdbb2.bit
5i25_mx3660x2.bit
5i25_pmdx126x2.bit
5i25_r990x2.bit
I should note that the FPGA card does not function as a LPT port
with only simple I/O bits but rather the high speed operations
like step generation, encoder counting and PWM generation are
handled by FPGA hardware. These means things like the maximum step
rate are in the multi-MHz region.
