7i96S Frame Ground was created by jayyhu
I'm planning to power my 7i96S board with a 5V isolated DC-DC converter (from 24V field power). According to the 7i96S manual, I need to connect the left mounting hole to the "frame ground", which I assume is either PE and/or the chassis ground. However, I've read many conflicting advice on whether this is needed or not. So my question is should I tie the mounting hole to PE? Or should I just leave it floating?

For noisy application like plasma systems
its important to connect the 7I96 frame
ground to chassis ground.
