Hi

Looking for 7i96 (non s) firmware for a cnc BOB (the cheap 5 axis one with a relay). I am using the double thcad for ohmic and thc.

Tried the g540 dpl firmware but it swaps my steppers around (0-4 being on the g540 not the mesa) could maybe make this work if i had too but wouldnt be fun to rewire. (see pic)

Ideally axis 0,1,2,3,4 on the mesa still, with 5,6,7,8,9, on the bob.
Currently the machine has 3 X axis. 2x gantry and 1x cable follower (cables hang from ceiling on an axis which follows x so they dont get tangled). 1 for y and 1 for z

looking at adding at least 1 for rotary plasma, and one to feed the bar through the spindle. Might need one or two more to clamp the bar. Not sure yet.

I have a few 7i96S as backups, would it be possible to get the firmware for that board as well?

Thanks

That configuration will not fit on a 7I96 but the 7i96s firmware is:

7i96s_5abobdpl.bin

well i done messed up,

went to reflash the 7i96 from a backup and it failed, waited a bit, tried a few times, nothing. would get stuck about a third of the way through. after waiting an hour tried unplugging the ethernet cable as sometimes its finicky and looses connection when playing around in the electrical box box.... and now i cant see it, cant ping it, got the red lights of doom.

assume she is dead, put the 7i96s in its place and working on getting that going.

anything i can do on my end...... or do i need to send it in...... or is it dead dead?

If a 7I96 does not come up it likely means the EEPROM data is corrupted
and will need to be re-initialized via JTAG.

In general if you have any kind of communication issues, those need to be resolved
before attempting to flash firmware, though in general an interrupted flash attempt
will be recoverable as the card will load the fallback configuration.

Probably best to send back to Mesa unless you have a Xilinx JTAG programmer
