Would anyone be interested in a parallel port to mini driver board

Would anyone be interested in a parallel port to 3d printer driver board. Thinking of basically copying the cheap CNC BOB but adding the headers for common drivers like a4988, drv8255, tmc2009, etc that way you can just plug it in without wiring drivers.
Any specific requirements?
Seems like the 5 axis, 5 input, analog out and relay from the BOB would cover most cases. Thinking of copying the CNC BOB pinout exactly so it works with mesa and parallel port configs out of the gate.
Won't be able to get to it for a bit, just curious if I'm the only one who has wanted one.

Nice idea, and if it ends up in the 20-30$ range with cheap drives, might just be good to have some.
Using those small drives with good Nema23 motors and some reduction can move some pretty hefty machines, any plasma machine with about 20-25Kg gantry and a motor on each side should still be very usable and safely do 10m/m moves, should also be enough for most desktop mills and lathes, so a very good starting point.
BTW, those thinking of using TMC drives with stealth chop and spread cycle case angular misalignment or something like that, so might not be the best choice for mills and lathes if those features are enabled (they can be disabled), should be ok for plasma.

Ha, I saw someone mention this on the mailing list the other day. Usually I use some bs where I connect the arduino cnc shield to a regular BOB, I think I saw it on V1engineering forum. But since I made a similar board I was gonna do a cheapo one for the stepstick to DB25.
It seems no problem for a4988/drv8825, but I wasnt sure how it would go with TMC2009 in regards to using 5v and how to do the serial configuration. Personally I wasnt going to add any of the other stuff, but it could be added for pretty cheap. 5 optos and an op amp to do pwm -> analog and a relay. I was also going to just copy the db25 pinout so it could be a standard thing.

That's great!
For the tmc2009 I think they can also be configured via the same jumpers as the a4988 but you need to change a resistor on the board (same come with it)
Worse case program it with a ch340g or an Arduino... Maybe just have the headers for an Arduino nano one could add if needed?

I thought of a similar but different idea, a board with headers for stepsticks (etc) and for a Pi compute module 4.
But I didn't get any further as I don't actually need one.

A compute module board with an fpga such as this would be interesting.
