Home and limit switch connections to 7i96s or 7i84 was created by Jdolecki
Does it matter if I connect the limits switches to the main board 7i96s of to the I/o 7i84?
Is there any delay in communication between the 7i96s since it’s a serial connection?
Or am I overthinking this?

Unless you have something that requires under millisecond response, there is no difference.
And personally, i prefer to have at least something responsible for safety wired to any and all remote boards, so if some wires break or switch fails i wont be able to run the machine.
