Mesa 7i48 vs 7i33 was created by doug6949
This is my first emc build. I am looking at the Mesa 7i48 because it offers 6 axis instead of the 4 on the 7i33. There is some discussion of the 7i48 in the "5 axis build" thread but not much else that discusses user observations.

Which of you are using the 7i48 and what problems have you encountered? I recall that configuration wizards were being built into V2.5. Are they complete? Anything else I should know before ordering cards?

Thanks;
Doug

The main limitation of the 7I48 is that you must use the development version of EMC, (version 2.5 or greater) as it is not supported
in the last released version (2.4.6). It is also not supported by pncconf so you must created a HAL file by hand (Starting with the hm2-servo HAL file is a good start)

pncconf partially supports the 7i48 in EMC 2.5.
You can configure half the mux encoders. Then you could hand edit for the other half.
