I think I'm done with the conversion now. I just put an ELO 1515L Intellitouch touch screen on. I removed the old bracket and using self drilling screws I just screwed that puppy down.

The touchscreen seams to be to exposed to chips, no?
Can you operate all machine functions from the touchscreen, like changing the gcode, feedhold, change feedrate and the remaining common features?

Yep, but I only open g-code or ngcgui to make subs... I never need to change feedrate but you can if you hook it up to your MPG.
It doesn't show up well but it is a modified version of Touchy to include the gremlin backplot and ngcgui.
