if the turret stops in the wrong location you just simply need to tweat the encoder read potion, advance or retard it

that is what firs the catch plate in with the timing of it all, and it simply stalls the air motor when it catch's it

if you have retro fitted it and you catch it early, then just add a delay on firing the valve for the catcher. and you can time it in then.

old controls where very slow on PLC line scan so encoder is built to read quite abit in front of true position.
just how they did things then.

if its unreliable on position stop always check the air valves are working ok, some times they get sticky when not used . and the ones fitted always go bad i found.

i replaced mine with newer 1/4" port vales , have to check voltage i think turret ones are 24v dc , while others in machine are 110v AC
