Connecting RAMPS to big CNCrouter LPT controller was created by Karabas
I need fast convertion large CNC router to 3d printer.
CNC is controlled by LPT controller and EMC2 software.
I have an Arduino + ramps1.4 with Marlin and think about to replace 3 stepsticks(x/y/z) with diy adapters wired to LPT to control big drivers.
Also I want to get endstop signals from LPT and connect them to RAMPS.
Will this work?
Extruder driver remains on RAMPS. Wires to head will be long enough - 3-5 meters
Will extruder stepper work?
I expect no problems with termistor and heater wireing.

computer. It is a nice, simple package, but uses the 2988 stepper drivers, which might be too
small for your machine. You could just bring out the step and direction signals to larger
stepper drivers.

You might want to have a look at the CRAMPS board, which can run up to 6 axes using a Beagle BoneI need fast convertion large CNC router to 3d printer.

The idea was
1 to use stock CNC drivers
2 to feed DIR ans STEP from RAMPS not direct to drivers but to stock LPT controller
3 t o get endstop signals from stock controller LPT and to connect them to RAMPS
I am not familiar with LPT controllers that is why I ask advice
