hardinge with siemmens drives was created by rasta
Hi; I just saw a utube movie that features a hardinge slant bed , using the old
Siemens drives and servos using EMC2 , as I have a set of Siemens drives and servos
can some one guide me on using them in my lathe?
thanks very much
the utube link is here

If your drives take velocity input like mine did then take a look at the CHNC topic where I converted my Hardinge to EMC.

hi there
the machine you linked to is one of mine, that has 3x 750W DC siemens servos on there 5Amp rated, the same as on the little CHNC also.
i helped john get his up and running, i still have all the info and manunal for these so if you need any info let me know, happy to share, the servos are ok but they realy are getting abit long in the tooth and old, depends how much work yours have done but some have very warn brush holders now and warn comms def worth taking them apart and cleaning and inspecting them if you aim to use them fully.
soon i will replace them with AC servos.
there are two versions of the drive cards, but both connect and have the same plug numbers.
if you need some info just showt.
