Siemens 810D interfacing ? was created by jmelson
I got a call from a guy who has a router with Siemens 810D control. I know there was a discussion
somewhere on here about retrofitting and re-using Siemens servo drives, I think it may have
been this model. Anyway, anybody know if the 810D amps are analog velocity input?
Thanks,
Jon

A brief Google search seems to imply that they are most likely digitally controlled, and might be difficult to figure out.

Reading the manual, it seems SOME models of the drive can have "speed command"
inputs, and they show these to be +/- 10 V analog. There is an "input board" that
selects what control signals the drive accepts. At least 4 (I think) models have
some analog speed command input, then several other options apparently do
not have analog input.

The 810D have a good market second hand demand (they are not new or not old enough). With some luck you can sell just the 810D CPU main group for cash enough to buy new servo drives (if the servos are not too large). This happened to me not so long ago.
