Conversion Question for AC 3-phase Servos was created by FDP
I want to run 3-phase Servos on single phase, if possible.
I know that for a spindle motor I can just use a VFD , but I am assuming that a VFD would not work for Axis motors?
Thanks!

VFDs/induction motors are not normally suitable for driving axis as they are too slow to respond to commands from the controller
3 Phase servo drives often have single phase power until they get bigger than 1 HP or so

Most brushless servo drives take DC input, or have a rectifier to a DC bus on the input stage.
So almost no servo drives are inherently dependent on 3-phase power.
