Hello everybody,
I am retrofitting cnc lathe, the year of manufacturing 1990.
The machine has:
-Tool turret, Sauter
-Hydraulic system with chuck/tailstock
-Analog Siemens drives, (±10V), with tacho. Encoders are connected to the motors by belts( spindle has 1:1 ratio, axis isnot).
On the hands I have MESA 5i25+7i77.
I have installed Linux CNC, when the programm is running the LED is blinking.
Encoders are not connected yet.
On the 1st stage i would like to run the spindle, but nothing happens.
On the TB5/0 i have ±15V during the test.

Questions:
1)Is the scheme of wiring correct? The motor isn’t moving, spindle encoder not connected.

2)Should i take the signals from encoders from the Simodrive? Or i should hold only tachogenerator signals on the drivers, and connect the encoder to MESA board directly?

forum.linuxcnc.org/10-advanced-configura...ning-detailed-how-to
read that, plenty of info about wiring 7i77 to other components.
