Hello,

I did not know where to post that question so i hope i am at the correct section.

But i would like to know how do i pick up the correct circuit breaker and protective fuse for my VFD frequency inverter?

I'm planing to use an Huanyang VFD huanyang 1.5KW 220V VFD frequency inverter (model: HY01D523B) with a 1.5KW (1HP=0.735KW) 220V 7A spindle.

The user-manual of the VFD actually only recommends to use a non fuse circuit breaker between the power supply and the VFD. But i would like to use a circuit breaker and a fuse between the power supply and the VFD. So what are the calculations involved to determine and pick up the right circuit breaker and fuse for the job?

My plan is to learn so feel free to provide educative answers if necessary. Thanks in advance :)

Check the manual, it should have the max current it can draw on the input and get the next bigger value for the circuit breaker. No fuse, it does not make sense having both doing the same job.
Example, VFD current draw 12A, get a 16A circuit breaker.

Thank you again for your answer. Well, i guess sometimes there is no need to overthink.

Have a great weekend :)
