So I ordered some new old stock, probably poorly stored, ballscrews from a surplus outlet. They're Tsubaki screws, ground, C5 grade.
I was told they were 1" OD screws, 42" long. I thought "That'll be good enough. I'll have to cut them down and machine the ends to length, but they'll be fine."
Yeah, these things are MONSTERS. Not quite 50mm diameter, the reduced section on the end for the bearings are over 1.25". They are, however, about 42" long. Double-nut, zero-backlash ballnuts with shim-able spacer plates.
And I have 25mm linear rail assemblies. Talk about a mismatch!
