Hi all,

I hope I'm right here.

We bought a Kuhlmann P25s CNC milling machine.
This is from the year 2000. I also attach a few pictures so that you can imagine it.

We threw out the current PC and will now install a Dell Optiplex with Linux CNC.

We're not sure how much of the old hardware we can keep.

Servo controller:
TRM 60/8

PC Card:
TN402328

Kuhlmann FU380

Maybe someone already has experience with such a conversion.
Our current Idea is that we only keep the motors and buy new modules.

Greetings,
Daniel

Hey girls and boys,

we bought a CNC milling machine and want to install LinuxCNC on it.
But we only know some base things and want to ask if someone knows a bit more ;) - every answer is helpful!

We have this few devices:
The machine itself - Kuhlmann P25S. (on one board we had a FU380 sign)
The controller we want to control via a new mesa card - TRM 60/8 from Custom Servo Motors.
Another controller - Sieb&Meyer 21.49.20 TX 38.

The first thing we did is to replace the computer.
We got this machine today so this is the first step we're doing now.

So we bought a computer for LinuxCNC.
We want to install a MESA 7i76E card on it so that we can control our current controllers.

Any ideas how to control / set up the LinuxCNC with the Kuhlmann P25S or TRM 60/8?
Thanks for any ideas!

Topic merged since it is about the same machine.
Do you have any schematics for it?
If not, we would need at a minimum to know what drives use for control as one of you mentioned Mesa 7i76E so you are assuming it is a step/dir control but i would venture a guess at TRM60/8 being a Mitsubishi servo drives and that is supported by the picture of the motor where it clearly says 2100RPM and has a tacho, the rest is not clearly visible as someone forgot to clean the motor before taking a picture.
That being said, my guess is you would need a 7i77 or the new one with ethernet port that i have not learned the number yet.
