Bridgeport EZTrak retrofit and Z-axis was created by spontarelliam
I can see that I'm not the only one thinking about retrofitting a Bridgeport EZTrak, but what I haven't seen in other posts is the desire to add Z-axis control, which is 90% of why I'd like to retrofit.
I found this quill conversion kit from MicroKinetics, but they recommend using a stepper motor to drive it. Is it possible for a Mesa card like the 7i92M to drive the original XY servo motors and a new Z stepper motor? If not, are there other suggestions?

Yes, you could use a 7I92 +7I77 +7I85S or 7I92 + 7I77 + low cost parallel port BOB for a combination analog servo + step/dir setup
