Hitachi Seiki VM40 III retrofit

Hi All,

We bought a Hitachi Seiki VM40 III, which lost all the parameter data. We didn't know if there was any other problem with the machine. We will see. Now we are doing the parameter backup with help, and hopefully, it will work, but in the long term, we know we will need to retrofit it with Linuxcnc.

We did a retrofit on the Hitachi ht20 lathe last year with linux, and well also worked with UCCNC and Mach3 for our portal mill. Now we want to start the research and start to make the new control box, even if the machine is running or not, to save some time. 
The control is Yasnac J300M with Yaskawa servos and drives. Please find some pictures of the machine and control in the attachment.
