Yep, you got the idea just right.

I'd suggest another breaker for the VFD, as well as a main disconnect switch as the first component between the main breaker and incoming line power.

I've not drawn the 24VDC circuits, but the attachment has the basic setup.

TinyCAD.

You can find a few discussions on it here, along with a few other electrical-type software.

I like TinyCAD - I've been using it for years and I've got a decent library of custom components built up.  It's excellent for wiring diagrams, but I think there are probably better software packages available for ladder diagrams and circuit design.  Especially for people who are professionals (or nearly so) or are used to 'pro' schematics.
