Thanks, i have read that, but wasn't sure of clear understanding.Actually the 7I43 will drive 4 7I29 cards (or 2 7I29s and a 7I37). Even though the 7I29 uses a full 50- pin I/O connector. it only connects to 12 of the 24 signals on the cable, and has an option jumper to select whether it connects to the channel 0/1 or 2/3 signals. This means that 2 7I29s (4 Axis)can connect to a single FPGA card connector. The smaller 7I40 bridge has the same feature.
so a configuration like one 7i43, two 7i29s and a 7i37 would be perfect. maybe just to begin i'll prefer the 7i40 that you suggest (money..)
a question: for a further enhancement, will it be possible having this configuration, change the two 7i29 with 4 3phase 8i20?
i know emc support for 8i20 is still in a dev-phase, but in the future i wish is going to work..
what about emc2 and the other mentioned cards?
thanks, Davide.
